FNF (Semifinals): M1 result and Semifinal M2 combatants

Semifinals Match 1

So for the first time in this entire tournament, I must lament a tragic miscarriage of justice.  The readers (whose judgment I committed to respect) have picked Black Crow as the winner.  I whole-heartedly disagree and would offer the following reasoning:

One of the premises of this fight series is that we're judging the combatants based on how they performed in specified issues.  Despite his more expansive and impressive-sounding power set, the only thing I saw Black Crow do in Civil War #6 - 7 was take a vicious backhand from the Taskmaster.

Meanwhile, Ion fights off the Chemo-Golem along with a varied assortment of other super-villains and henchmen in MOST #1. Ion may be unknown, but he deserved this win.  Oh well, I guess that's politics for ya.  Better luck next time, kid.

Semifinals Match 2

Our second semifinal match pits Golden Age avenger, the Voice against Marvel's scrappy underdog the Prowler.  Who could've dreamed that either would've made it this far?  Who's left standing at the end of next week?

Setting
This fight takes place during World War I.  It is early morning, and our combatants are dropped into the middle of the eerily desolate "no man's land" between arrayed forces of the Central and Allied Powers.  Shortly after our combatants arrive, artillery shells begin to explode around them with increasing frequency.

  1. Alas, that's twice Black Crow has been voted winner against your better judgement. It appears Black Crow has the power of the people backing him up!

However, it's actually quite fitting that Ion lose in this way, as it very closely parallels the themes of our current issue. So buck up, Ion-- it was for the greater good!

This has been a lot of fun to see play out, Justin! I'll keep checking back to see who is crowned grand champion!
